York-Themed Wedding Designs
Jul 09, 2014
As a designer there are some projects that come along from time-to-time that are ‘extra special’, and a recent opportunity to create the wedding designs for a good friend of mine was one of them.
Lee & Susie met while studying together at York St John University. Though the couple have since moved away from the area, they wanted both the city and university to be featured throughout all their designs, from the order-of-service right through to the table plan and seating arrangements.
The wedding design therefore features a silhouette of the York, including key landmarks such as the minster, the York eye, and the cities most famous street known as ‘The Shambles’. In addition to the city-based theme, a subtle pattern encircles the page numbers, which reflects the oak-leaf logo of York St John university.
The feedback so far indicates the designs were well received and complimented not only the theme chosen by Lee and Susie, but also the day itself, which was a huge success (despite the good natured ridicule I received during the ‘best mans’ speech). It’s always great to receive positive feedback, and I’m proud to share the following from Lee:
“Pete engaged with us when designing our wedding stationary in a dedicated and professional manor. The design consultation was personal and effective, with Pete understanding our needs and creating a beautiful product. Thanks to him we had personalised and unique wedding stationary, which achieved everything we asked for and more”
